Terms of Use

Last updated September 1, 2026

These are the basic rules for using Focus Together. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've kept them short and plain.

Using Focus Together

Reporting, blocking, and moderation

You can report or block anyone you're matched with, from their profile in the app. Blocking is mutual — once you block someone, neither of you will be matched with the other — and you can undo it from Settings. We review reports and may remove content, restrict, or remove accounts that break these terms or the law.

One limit worth knowing: because deleting an account severs the link to the original sign-in identity, someone who signs up again arrives as a new account. Blocking cannot follow them across that. If someone you blocked appears to come back, please report them.

Your content

What you write — your nickname, handle, session topics and notes, and custom category names — is yours, and you're responsible for it. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, back up, copy, transmit to our service providers, and display your content as needed to operate the features you use, including showing your nickname and character to people you're matched with. We may remove or hide content that breaks these terms or the law. This license is only for running Focus Together — we don't sell or license your content to others. It ends when you delete your account, except for backups already made, moderation records, and anonymous or aggregate data that no longer identifies you.

Purchases

Items in the app are bought with in-app points you earn by focusing. There are no real-money purchases in the iPhone app today. If we add them, they'll go through Apple's In-App Purchase and the price and terms will be shown before you buy.

Availability & changes

Focus Together is provided "as is" and "as available," to the maximum extent permitted by law — we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your stats and records are always accurate or preserved. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that can't be waived. We may suspend, limit, or remove any account or content at our discretion — for example for abuse, legal risk, or to protect the service or other users — and may change, pause, or discontinue the service (in whole or part) at any time. We may transfer these terms and your account and content to a successor if Focus Together is sold or merged; we'll let you know. We may update these terms and will revise the date above; continued use means you accept the changes.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Focus Together and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profit, or time. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it — which may be nothing, since the app is free to use. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. You're responsible for the content you post and how you use the service; if a claim against us arises from your content or your misuse of the service, you agree to cover the reasonable costs we incur.

Our rights

Focus Together — including the app, its characters and artwork, our designs, code, and name — is ours or licensed to us. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use it under these terms; that's all.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be handled by the courts there — subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy policy.
